Sponsor A Pastor

Pastor Sponsorship is an important part of our ministry.

Sudanese pastors possess a great hunger to know the word of God, and pastor sponsorships are a vital part of this ministry. Sponsorships provide practical resources such as literature distribution and leadership training in key areas, such as family ministry, children’s ministry and cross-cultural training. Sponsorships fund seminars on important issues Sudanese pastors must face such as persecution for their faith. They also fund literacy courses and even meet transportation needs like bicycles for pastors. These bicycles enable the pastors to cover much greater distances than they ever could on foot, in order to reach people in profound need.

Many of these men have experienced the horror of surviving a “holy war.” They can speak of general suffering due to the war between northern and southern Sudan, as well as persecution because of their commitment to the Truth. Some have been beaten for their faith and threatened with death. They can speak firsthand about what it is like to suffer starvation, hate crimes and the horror of genocide. They know what it feels like to be struck down, as Paul testified centuries ago. They are in great need of encouragement and assistance. The purpose of our pastor sponsorship program is to exhort and equip these men of God to fulfill the Great Commission.
